 |
- Accessory Dwelling
- An accessory dwelling can be within the principal
dwelling or a detached accessory structure and is
defined as separate living quarters with its own
kitchen, living and sleeping areas.
- Accessory Structure
- An accessory structure is a detached subordinate
structure which is clearly incidental to and customarily
found in connection with the principal structure and is
located on the same lot as the principal structure.
- Addition
- An addition refers to an attached structure, such as
a new room or attached garage.
- Agricultural Building
- A building that is used for agricultural purposes,
such as a poultry house, manure shed, or farm equipment
shed.
- Alteration
- An alteration is a renovation or a structural change
made to an existing building.
- Deck
- A deck is an open, unroofed porch or platform
extending from a building.
- Fireplace
- Includes both wood burning and gas burning
fireplaces.
- Foundation Repair
- Any repairs to a foundation requires a permit.
- Mobile Home
- A mobile home refers to both a single-wide and a
double-wide. Single-wide mobile homes have to go
through a 30-Day Procedure and have location
restrictions.
- Multi-Family Dwelling
- Multi-family dwellings include duplexes, condominiums,
and apartments.
- Single-Family Dwelling
- A dwelling designed for one family and not a mobile
home.
- Pool
- Includes spas and hot tubs.
- Shoreline Project
- Shoreline projects include but are not limited to
Osprey Poles, docks, and riprap. Prior to applying for
these projects a joint permit must be obtained from
the
Army Corp of Engineers and
Department of Natural Resources.
- Sign
- Most signs, both on- and off-premise, require a permit
and may have size and location restrictions.
- Townhouse Dwelling
- One of a series of three or more attached dwelling
units separated from one another by continuous vertical
party walls which are without openings from the lowest
floor level to the highest point of the roof.
- Commercial/Industrial/ Institutional
- Includes buildings for business, schools, and
utilities.
- Home Occupation
- Any occupation or business conducted entirely within
a dwelling or accessory structure, but not both, by
only members of the family residing on the premises and
which is clearly incidental and secondary to the
residential use of the premises. Agriculture is not
considered a home occupation.
- Temporary Structure
- A temporary structure refers to tents or other
removable structures that will only be at a location
for a limited period of time, such as tents for
fireworks and 30-day events.
- Communications Tower
- A tower site and structure, including antennas,
equipment shelters, parking and other accessory devices
or structures, associated with telecommunication
services for the broadcasting, transmitting, receiving
or relaying of communications signals for television,
radio, satellite, wireless, cable, microwave, cellular,
personal communications services, etc.
- Gravel Pit
- Sand, gravel or mineral extraction facilities, which
includes but is not limited to commercial operations
and extraction incidental to the creation of irrigation
ponds.
