Planning & Codes Administration Fee Schedule

SECTION 1. FEE SCHEDULE

Building Permits / Zoning Certificates (Building Inspection Fee Also Required)  
Residential: New Construction Homes, modular or manufactured homes, Additions, attached garages, etc. $0.17 per sqare foot on the measurements of all buildings at all levels (rounded to the nearest dollar amount); minimum fee, $50.00
Detatched garages, accessory buildings, Pools replacements foundations, Fireplaces, produce stands, etc. $0.12 per square foot on the measurements of all buildings at all levels (rounded to the nearest dollar amount); minimum fee, $50.00
Residential - Renovations, alterations $50
Signs up to and including 16 square feet $100
Commercial, industrial or institutional projects, stores, lagoons, signs over 16 square feet, etc. (new construction, renovations, alterations):

Building Inspection Fees for construction subject to the International Building Code or International Residential Code as provided in the Caroline County Building Code. The following fees are in addition to all other fees required in this fee schedule, including those required under the section titled "Building Permits / Zoning Certificates."

Performance Bond Amount of the cost of construction estimate plus fifteen percent (15%)

SECTION 2. REFUNDS
  1. There shall be a refund processing fee of $50.00, which shall be deducted from any approved refund.
  2. There will be no refunds or credits for building, zoning certificate or Middle Department Inspection fees after a permit or certificate is issued.
  3. There will be no refunds of subdivision plat fees.
  4. No fees for rezonings or Board of Appeals applications will be refunded after the first public hearing notice is published.


SECTION 3. Plumbing And Electrical Work Inspection Fees are in accordance with fee schedules maintained in the Department of Planning and Codes Administration and are paid to Middle Department Inspection Agency or First State Inspection Agency.
