Volunteer Member Needed for Caroline County
Planning Commission
The Caroline County Commissioners are accepting
expressions of interest in membership on the
Caroline County
Planning Commission. This citizen-driven board
consists of seven members and there is currently one
opening on the Commission. Expressions of interest
will be held and considered for future openings.
The Commission's duties are to review, evaluate, and
approve or disapprove plans for subdivisions, mobile
home developments, and Transfer of Development Rights
in accordance with Caroline County's laws and
regulations. The Commission reviews and makes
recommendations to the County Commissioners regarding
proposed changes to the Caroline County Comprehensive
Plan, Zoning Ordinance, and Subdivision Regulations.
The Commission hears appeals concerning the approval
or disapproval of site plans.
The term of office is five years. Meetings are held
at the Caroline County Health and Public Services
Building at 403 South Seventh Street, Denton on the
second Wednesday of each month, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Applicants must be residents of Caroline County.
Candidates must submit a brief letter of interest
describing why they would like to serve on the
Commission. Candidates must also complete a
County Biographical Information Form ( 111 KB)
which can be obtained from Leslie Grunden, Planner, at
410-479-8100. Completed applications may be submitted

Seventh Street, Suite 210, Denton, MD 21629, or
via email to
lgrunden@co.caroline.md.us. Interviews may be conducted
as part of the selection process. The deadline to
receive applications is August 20, 2010.
