Master Electrician
A master electrician is defined in the Caroline County
Electrical Standards as:
"A person engaged in installing, erecting and repairing electric
wire or conductors, to be used for the transmission of electric
current for electric light, heat or power purposes, and
mouldings, ducts, raceways or conduits, for the reception or
protection of such wires or conductors, and electrical
machinery, apparatus, devices or fixtures, to be used for
electric light, heat or power purposes, or planning, estimating,
laying out and supervising such electrical work or holding
himself out tot the public as engaged in any aspect of said
electrical work."
Requirements
A master electrician must:
- Have a Master Electrical License issued by the Maryland
State Board of Master Electricians
Or
- successfully complete an examination
- have or be employed in a permanent place of business
and devote a majority of his time to the performance of
electrical work or intend to have the same and do so and
in fact have the same and do so within 90 days of the
date of issuance of a license hereunder
- have at least four years of practical experience in the
electrical work set forth under the definition of "master
electrician" in the County Electrical Standards (see
above). Schooling or training in a technical school or
college relating to said work may be substituted, month
for month, for not more than two years of said four years
of practical experience.
Or
- have a letter of reciprocity from another Maryland County
from which he has held a Master Electrical License, which
was obtained by examination, for at least one year with no
current record of violations of regulations or suspension
of license
