TEMPORARY ONE-DAY LICENSES

The Board of License Commissioners may grant a one-day special Class C beer, wine and/or liquor license which entitles the holder to exercise any of the privileges conferred by the respective classes of licenses at any bona fide entertainment held or conducted by any religious, fraternal, veterans, political, civic or other non-profit organization, social club, society, or association composed of reputable citizens over 21 years of age, duly organized with officers and a constitution or by-laws and that the membership in said club, society or association is bona fide and real. The fee for each license is $50 per day. A special license may not be granted to any organization more than 12 times in any calendar year. Those persons under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for a club society or association holding a casino or gambling event. Alcoholic beverages sold under this special license may be purchased by such special license holder from retail dealers.

MULTIPLE EVENT LICENSES

Instead of purchasing individual event licenses for a particular class of license, an applicant may purchase a multiple event license for the same class of license. Fees for a multiple event license are:
  1. $125 for not more than 10 events per year;
  2. $250 for not more than 20 events per year;
  3. $375 for not more than 30 events per year;
  4. $500 for not more than 40 events per year.

The total number of days for which a multiple event license may be issued to a single applicant may not exceed 40 days per calendar year. The Board may not issue more than 1 special multiple event license to an organization in a calendar year. The applicant shall pay in advance the fee for a multiple event license. The Board may not issue a refund if the holder of the license in a calendar year holds fewer than the number of events that the holder is entitled to conduct. A multiple event license shall be issued for one premise only and to the same applicant for all events for which the license is issued, unless the Board in writing approves a substitute applicant. The Board may hold a hearing before approving a substitute applicant. A special multiple event licensee shall notify the Board in writing at least 5 business days before an event. A server who is currently certified as having completed an alcohol awareness program shall be on the premises for which a multiple event license is issued whenever alcoholic beverages are served under the license.

BEER AND WINE TASTING/SAMPLING

The Board of License Commissioners may issue a one-day Class BWTS beer and wine (on-premises) tasting or sampling license. A Class BWTS license may be issued only to a holder of a current alcoholic beverage license or an organization that qualifies for a special Class C beer or beer and wine license. The license fee is $50 per day. A Class BWTS license authorizes the holder to permit the consumption of wine or beer for tasting or sampling, if the alcoholic beverages are given to consumers at no charge.

Restrictions on consumption:

A person may consume wine or beer covered by a Class BWTS license in a quantity not exceeding:
  1. 1 ounce from a single brand of wine, and 4 ounces from all brands in a single day; and
  2. 3 ounces from a single brand of beer, and 8 ounces from all brands in a single day.

All consumption of alcoholic beverages shall occur on the licensed premises of the holder of the Class BWTS license. The Board of License Commissioners need not publish an application for a Class BWTS license before granting the license. A Class BWTS license may not be granted to a person more than 26 times in a calendar year (effective 07.01.11). At the end of the day for which a Class BWTS license is valid, the license holder shall dispose of unconsumed alcoholic beverages remaining in a container opened for tasting or sampling.
